I Am Sked for a Cryosurgery...

I am scheduled for a cryosurgery tomorrow afternoon. I had my annual pap smear last December 2010 and the result was negative. It was satisfactory, however, a slight infection was detected. After my consultation with my OB-Gyne, I agreed to her recommendation for a cryosurgery. I will be a walk-in patient for this procedure that will take less than 20 or 15 minutes only. In layman's term, she found something that looks like a wart inside my cervix and it needs to be removed by burning it. She said it's not painful so I guess I will just be fine after this.

As defined by womenshealth.about.com, "Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy is a gynecological treatment that freezes a section of the cervix. Cryosurgery of the cervix is most often done to destroy abnormal cervical cells that show changes that may lead to cancer."

With what the doctor had found out and with this definition, I don't have any second thought of delaying this therapy. We can never be too sure of our health these days and I guess when we're at this age and after giving birth 2x, I have to be more conscious with my body particularly with my health.
