Our Garden Flowers

These beautiful white flowers bloom outside our garden every now and then. I don't know what it's called so I researched it online. And from what I've read from others, this plant is called Spider Lily and commonly grows in Southeastern Asia. How about you, do you have other terms for this flower?

This is my share this week for:

Get Photo Booth Rental Denver

I got married 10 years ago and I remember I was very hands-on with the wedding preparations. One of my concerns was our official photographer because I wanted to hire someone who was already a pro in capturing the most memorable event of my wedding day. So far, I was happy with the outcome since all of my expectations at that time were met.

But as the years passed, so many changes have happened. Digital camera was not yet even popular 10 years ago and nobody knew anything about photo booth. Unlike these days, weddings are more fun to attend because of special packages that even visitors get to enjoy. Photo booth is a nice package to avail because not only the newlyweds get to enjoy it but even the visitors as well. I guess the reason why this is so popular these days is because you can strike a pose without distracting anybody as you are inside the booth. You can always be yourself and not all of your poses need to be formal. The booth won’t take up much space also so this can be very practical and convenient.

While I was browsing online, I found out that Capture Pod is very in demand in the city of Denver. Their innovative style in capturing wedding or any party pictures is what made them so popular. I watched the video at their site and found that, indeed, the resulting pictures were elegant, sleek, sassy and classy. You can have your pictures customized by Capture Pod. If your wedding is coming up or if you are going to host a party, why not get photo booth rental Denver and let them serve as your official photographer? That way you can focus on other things and will have less to worry about. Capture Pod is aimed to provide the highest quality and customer services so I’m sure you will be very happy with the results.

We didn't go out last Valentine's day but just ordered food from the restaurant. The weather was not that good so we decided to stay home. We don't want to go thru all the hassles especially that we have 2 kids ages 8 and 1 so home was the best place for us to celebrate. Sharing to you the food that we ordered:

Find Business Partners When Starting A Business

Getting started with one’s own business is quite hard especially if you are starting out a single proprietorship. At one time, I told my husband of my dream to start my own business, particularly one which involved the buying and selling of fashionable clothes and trendy accessories. I actually got the idea from a distant cousin who started out a small business selling all types of clothing items which she bought whenever she travels to other places, a business which right now has become so successful that she even expanded into wedding planning and catering for all sorts of special gatherings.

My husband, who is a commercial loan account officer at a bank, and whose clients range from small time businessmen to large corporations, strongly advised that I should start out a business by making sure I have enough capital. This can be secured either from one’s own private funds or by trying to find business partners who can help with raising up the required funds. This is because one needs to have enough start-up capital to buy the things needed to start the business as well as additional working capital in order to get the business going. More often than not, businessmen tend to resort to securing small business loans in order to get the working capital they need. They usually secure a short term loan for the working capital they need in order to stock up on inventory. The additional working capital can also be used for operating expenses, to keep the business going even through the lean months when business is not that in-demand.

One important thing, though, which my husband reminds me is that in no way should these funds be used other than for the business itself, and that working capital should never be used for long term investments such as buying land or equipment, even if they are intended for the business, otherwise this may adversely affect the business. Learning the basics might be a bit difficult for first time business venturers, but one can easily look up an investment directory on the internet.

Baby Zoe was not smiling anymore coz she was already sleepy. Contrary to Chloe, she enjoyed flashing a smile to the camera :D

Electric Floor Heating System

Even when I am inside our house, I always use my slippers. I also use my bedroom slippers inside our room because my feet just can't stand stepping on a cold floor. It gave me shivers and sometimes, it is quite painful for me to walk when not using my slippers. Actually, this started after I gave birth to my second child. I thought this thing would just go away but it did not. Walking barefooted inside the house is practiced by many. Some footwear brings dust inside the house so better put them on the side or at the shoe rack.

Our house was renovated last year and my husband and I decided to change the tiles on the floor especially in our living room and dining room area. Our bedroom floor is made of wood so we just leave the place as it is. But I have to admit that even until now, there are still so many things at home that need to be repaired. Perhaps if we have saved enough money, we will have them fixed.

Anyway, my husband and I thought of putting underfloor heating systems on our floor. By using the heating mats and cables, it will warm up our tiled floors. This will greatly help me and walking barefoot will not be a problem anymore. And this is very useful as it's always raining in our place these days.

If you are interested to know more about this, try to check this out online. This heating system is definitely helpful if you live in a very cool place. This provides you warmth and comfort at home. Once this system is installed, a sensor will detect the temperature and will automatically adjust itself. There are different kinds of electric floor heating system that you can choose from. And you don't have to worry much about it as they are safe and very much affordable.

Geisler Maclang Event

Cagayan de Oro Bloggers with Geisler Maclang group

Last February 11, 2012, I attended a Geisler Maclang event at Mallberry Suites Hotel. They had invited Cagayan de Oro bloggers hoping to forge partnerships with them in order to rebuild the city, which was badly hit by Typhoon Sendong (International named “Washi”) last December 16-17, 2011. Members of Bisdak Bloggers, CDO Bloggers Inc. and CDO Mom Bloggers Club responded to this invitation and gathered at CafĂ© Laguna together with the GM staff, Ms. Geri Pacleb and Ms. Tina Antonio. The GM Director, Ms. Amor Maclang, was present and gave us some insight as to their general plan.

Ms. Tina was assigned to us and we were able to raise our individual concerns. She listened attentively as some people expressed their woes and told her how most of the townsfolk were very much affected post-Sendong. Since GM’s objective was to help rebuild CDO, their first step was to gather some info from us so that they would know where to start.

CDO Blogger Karen & Bisdak Blogger Judy

Actually, one of the major problems in our city was the lack of a system during the crisis. Simply put, it was very disorganized. Although help came to some of the victims, there were others who did not receive help at all. Other problems surfaced such as financial assistance, illegal mining, the odd governance by city officials, the need for dredging of river, etc, etc. There were just too many issues to discuss that some important matters were neglected. But personally, I was more concerned of the future safety of the people. I was hoping the project would be given utmost importance so that a lot of lives can be spared, should (God forbid) another typhoon hit the city in the near future.

When Ms. Amor mentioned that one of their topmost priorities for our city was the river dredging, I was kind of relieved and elated. Dredging was always bypassed by our local government and it was good to know that there are people outside the city that offered this kind of help. Another project that the GM wanted to offer was the housing program. They will work with SHDA and hope this plan pushes thru within 6-8 months. Even though it had been two months since the typhoon happened, many of the victims were still homeless and some went back to their old places despite the possible danger awaiting them. Ms. Amor also talked about rehabilitating the people, which I think would greatly help the victims. They aim to structure Sendong victims of Northern Mindanao thru CDO.

The meeting ended at around 7:30 p.m., and so far, our discussion was fruitful. As bloggers and residents of Cagayan de Oro, we left the place very hopeful and very excited about the project. We had all wanted to take part of the program for our own reasons. For myself, my in-laws were flood victims and I wanted to speak on behalf of them and help them in whatever means, especially since they were not lucky enough to receive any aid from the government. I wanted my in-laws to be safer especially now that they plan on going back to their old place. Currently, they are still staying with us but anytime soon they will leave and return to their old abode. I think the only way to give them help right now is to support the river dredging project. I was hoping they would just transfer to another place far from harm but since I simply cannot decide for them, the least that I could do was help in making their area a safer place to stay.

Geisler Maclang will be coming back next month and I am so looking forward for the next event. I hope by that time, some of their projects would have already been implemented.

Me at the lobby

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Geisler Maclang for coming over all the way from Manila. Thank you for the concern that you showed to our city and for partnering with us to rebuild our place.

Want Gold?

Because of its buying power, some rich people from years ago kept gold or silver bullion bars. These precious bars can be exchanged for valuable and expensive materials. But some people opted to put their bars in highly secured and safe places for protection purposes. Bullion can also be found in jewelries and money. If ever you are planning to purchase gold bullion, you can buy gold at Golden Eagle. They specializes a wide variety of bullion coins and carried huge amount of foreign gold bars. Try visiting their site now and check for their latest update.

Nutritious Fruits

I attended the Geisler Maclang event early this evening at Mallberry Suites Hotel. They came all the way from Manila and invited the bloggers of Cagayan de Oro to take part on this event. They were here hoping to rebuild our city after our place was badly hit by typhoon Sendong. I will make a separate post on this so meantime, let me show you the desserts that we have at Mallberry's Cafe Laguna.

Slices of watermelon, pineapples, apples and mango were served to us. It was healthy, juicy and nutritious. We went home feeling great and we were all looking forward for another GM event next month.

Best Conferencing Service

A few years ago, people used to set up a meeting just to discuss some things. If it was about their company, they would book a flight, made hotel reservations and have a conference with the people involved. If you come to think of it, this kind of meeting was quite costly. Thanks to the evolving technology, teleconferencing services saved a lot of people's time and money. It is widely used now in some companies either to transact business or discuss important matters. Choco Roll

One of the cakes we ate last New Year's Eve was Goldilocks Choco-Roll. Since I'm a choco-lover, I'd say that the cake tasted heavenly. I'm even craving to eat this one now, lol.

Safe At Home

If you have valuable items, don't you think it is best to put them somewhere safe? I knew someone's kid who gave away her mom's jewelries thinking it was just a toy. Anyway, I happen to browse online and found that hollon safe is highly recommended to use. It is very durable and surely protects the owner's assets seriously. You can check their site if you want to know more about it. They are even on sale right now so hurry and check it out!

Feeling Winter

My little girl was imagining that she was in winter wonderland when she don these clothes... Winter in the Philippines? Gosh! I felt so hot looking at her on these pictures, hehe. She was playing costume2x with her favorite aunt that she came up with this idea. She was hoping to wear her bonnet but since she couldn't find it, she borrowed my shades and scarf instead. Her white coat was courtesy of her aunt. More photo ops below:

She was really feeling it, huh?
