CDOBloggers' Year-End Thanksgiving 2023

Last night was CDOBloggers' Year-End Thanksgiving as well as election of new sets of officers for the year 2024. It was held at the new function room of Ribs and Bibs located at the 5th floor of SM CDO Downtown Premier. I arrived a little bit late but had so far enjoyed the party.

In my previous post, I've said that I had health issues that I had to step down as officer in a certain organization. This is the Org that I was referring to. I was elected Treasurer for two (2) consecutive years but had to let it go end of August last year. They didn't replace me, though, but am happy that someone already filled-in that position last night :-)

Anyways, here's a picture of the members present during Thanksgiving. Everyone was happy, I guess, coz we all got something from raffles and games. Giving my credits to the one who took/owned this pic from our org:

CDO Bloggers Coachella Christmas Party and Election of Officers

CDO Bloggers just had its Christmas party last December 10, 2022 and it was an awesome event! Everyone who attended the party was able to bring a lot of giveaways, door prizes and raffle prizes. I was pretty sure nobody left empty-handed. But the most beautiful thing happened was when so many generous people/companies offered their kindness to our organization. The picturesque venue, The Cistern, was sponsored by Xavier Sports and Country Club. Our cocktail food was sponsored by A Brown Company, Inc. and Smart Communications of CDO sponsored the graze appetizer from Chino's Deli. Seda Hotel sponsored an overnight stay in their plush hotel for the lucky winner in our raffle prizes, they also offered pool pass and lechon humba belly; others sponsored the lechon, tokens, accommodation to Sevensea adventure, GrabFood and many, many more. It was indeed a fun and a memorable event.

The party ended with the members electing a new set of officers for the year 2023. I, however, was re-elected to the same position I hold last year, lol. Anyways, sharing some pics of the event and I guess some of the faces here are very familiar to you, hehe. Have fun reading or looking ;)

CDOBloggers Fantastic Fourteen Anniversary

CDOBloggers celebrated its 14th anniversary last November 12, 2022 at Sky Garden, SM CDO Downtown Premier. It was indeed a #FantasticFourteen event attended by less than 30 members. I am glad to be a part of this organization for over a decade who supports its members and spread awareness to others. Thank you to all the sponsors who supported us throughout these years and to SM, for allowing us to use their beautiful garden to celebrate our simple soiree.

Where's the Party?

Sharing a rare photo of me being dolled up & dressed to the nines 😜 This pic was a year old already but I don't remember posting it here in my blog. I attended our blogger's anniversary last year and the theme was somewhat red-carpet worthy in gold and black formal attire.

Good thing I kept some dresses that were given to me by my hubby's aunt who resides in the US. I kept this black dress for years and glad I didn't give it away or else I have nothing to wear on this particular event, lol.

I don't know if I look good on this dress but I'd like to believe I did, harhar. Most bloggers had the same make-up artist that night that I thought we probably looked the same, haha.

The party was a success and ended well. We had great food and we were provided with a good venue. Glad it didn't rain because we were at the roofdeck of a building. Everyone was full, had a good laugh and I think the anniversary was celebrated just everybody wanted it to be.

Summer Fun in the Sun at Seven Seas Waterpark

At my back is the Cyclone water slide
Ahoy Mateys!

CDOBloggers had its first General Membership Meeting for the year 2019 last May 11 at Seven Seas Water Park Resort located at Zone 1, Opol, Cagayan de Oro City. It started in the morning and concluded at 6 in the evening. It was also a great time for the old and new members of CDOBloggers to bond and get to know each other well.

however, my daughter and I (daughter is also a member) had prior commitments, so, we almost didn't make it to the GMM. We arrived very late at 4:30pm (not to mention I got lost on the road even though I used waze. I ended up using another shortcut but it was narrow...but glad we still made it!).
I guess we missed a lot of activities earlier in the day, like touring the place and experiencing all the rides but my daughter still had the best remaining 2 hours in her life at the pool while I took some pics :-)

About Seven Seas

Seven Seas Waterpark is described as 'the first world class, largest and pirate-themed waterpark in the Philippines. Seven Seas is just minutes from the bustling metropolis of Cagayan de Oro, which is the gateway to the Philippine's food basket and a popular adventure tourism destination. The nearby Laguindingan airport is readily accessible from the waterpark and future development of port facilities, hotels, resorts and food establishments in Opol will enhance the attractiveness of the seven (7) hectares facility for locals and out of towners alike.'
Anyways, sharing to you some pictures I took at Seven Seas. In this picture you can see some attractions of Seven Seas such as: The Cyclone, The Buccaneer Bay, Pira-Chute, Plank Drop. I promised myself to try all these rides the next time I come here. It looks scary but I think it's fun to try. Besides, you can always see lifeguards roaming and checking around. They also have other rides or attractions that I wasn't able to take pics like the Captain Kidd's hideout, Pacific Racer, Cannon ball run, Riptide Reef, Fuerte de San Agustin, Escape Tunnel and Mighty Maui River.

Below are some pictures of me with the matey's:
Next time I come back, I'll make sure to take a lot of pictures in every corner. This place is really great for a family or barkada outing and a perfect place to relax and unwind.

* Thanks to Bogie's Wonderland for my other pics ;-)

Experience Paragliding at Sierra del Oro

Great news to all sports-minded and adventurous peeps here in Cagayan de Oro as Sierra del Oro Leisure Park officially opened Paragliding last April 29, 2017.

Paragliding is considered an extreme sport but according to experts, can be easily mastered. Sierra del Oro Leisure Park had its soft opening last April 26 wherein some people from the media were invited. I was there with my 13-year-old daughter, Chloe, along with other CDOBloggers and their kids.
Most of us listed our names on a piece of paper should we want to try paragliding. My daughter tried it, I didn't :-)

So, I guess I will be sharing with you my daughter's experience then... We were there at 1:00 pm but my daughter was accommodated at around 4:00 pm. It was because the wind was light (yes, the stronger wind, the better --- coz it will take you higher and the longer the ride!) and there were only 3 licensed and professional paragliders available. Others were still coming Friday that week. When all licensed 'pilot's were still busy up in the air, we took pictures and videos while waiting for the others to come back. In case you asked, you are ONLY allowed to paraglide with a licensed paraglider. Without them means NO flying.
You can also enjoy the view and beautiful sunset at Sierra del Oro
When it was my daughter's turn, she was instructed on what to do and what NOT to do before/during gliding. As a mom, I was quite nervous but excited for her. Of course, I could not help but get worried should anything happen to her (God forbid!). But I also believed she was in good hands with Sir Titoy so all I could do was pray for their safety. On the other hand, my daughter could not contain her excitement! Chloe had fun even though theirs was only cut short because the wind was already very light. Well, that was the mere reason why some of us were not able to experience paragliding that day (eherm!...excuses...hehe). Paragliding stopped at around 5:30 pm. Although they asked us to come back on Friday that week and Tuesday the next week, I wasn't able to because I was already on vacation with my family.

Anyhoo, sharing to you my daughter's video while paragliding up-close and personal. Check her expression...whatdyathink? :-)

P.S. First part of this video was taken from GoPro. Sierra del Oro will provide go-pro for you to take a video while up on the air. Just copy it from them after you're done gliding. Second part of this video was taken from my iPhone6s (",)

For more inquiry about Paragliding, Sierra del Oro is located at Indahag hills, Cagayan de Oro City. The rate per ride is P2,500. You can contact or make reservation either of these numbers: 09194741131 or 0927820428.

CDOBloggers 1st GMM at Ah Fong Asian Cuisine

 photo IMG_3762_zpssqtvooru.png
Induction of Officers 2015; Food served by Ah Fong
CDOBloggers held their first General Membership Meeting for this year on February 28, 2015. It was held at Ah Fong Asian Cuisine, a Chinese-Filipino Restaurant located at the Ground Floor level of Grand Central Building along Hayes cor. Pabayo St., Cagayan de Oro City. One of the owners, Ms. Nelia Lee, was there to welcome us and gave us a brief background of the restaurant. She discussed how she and her partners came up with the idea of putting up a business that turned into a restaurant.

Ms. Nelia introduced to us some of their bestseller foods and had us tried namely: Ah Fong Chicken, Mixed Vegetables (or Four seasons), Crabmeat Fuyong, Pancit Canton and Gulaman with Fruit cocktail dessert. The taste was really good that all of us went home full and satisfied. I promised to go back to Ah Fong and bring my family there to try their dishes.

Ms. Nelia Lee
I highly recommend this place to you as well. Aside from their bestseller foods mentioned above, they offer different varieties of Filipino-Chinese dishes that are very affordable, too! So, if you're nearby the place or just visiting CDO, I'd like you to try dining at Ah Fong Restaurant where you will be served with good food with a good ambiance and with accommodating staff!

Going back to the Blogger's event, new sets of officers were Inducted. Ms. Emma Cortez is now the CDOBloggers' President for the year 2015. Congratulations Mommy Emz! You deserved the position ;-)

I've been blogging since 2008 but made my membership official with CDOBloggers over 2 years ago, I guess. And being a member of this group made me somewhat feel young, lol.

Anyhoo, I'll be sharing more on our upcoming event and share it with you. If you feel like joining, you are welcome to do so but better if you visit our website first or even check our FB page to give you an idea of what CDOBloggers is all about.
