To get there, you have the option to go to their Tourism office or just look for the people working for the tourism before entering the terrain and pay for the pass. It only costs P40 (P30 for entrance fee and P10 documentary stamp). 

Back From Our Hong Kong Trip

Just got back from a short trip from Hong Kong with my family. This trip was planned last May and we already booked our flight. We availed it for a very low price because the airline was offering a 90% of their airbus fare (excluding tax). My mom joined us for this trip and we just joked that in case something happened, at least she's there. End of July, we made hotel reservations and we just waited for a month for this trip to push thru.

But early August my husband got sick. Only to find out he had ruptured appendix that he had to had an emergency appendectomy but the procedure was Ex-lap because his intestine and the rest of his organs needs to be cleaned. In other words, he had major surgery. He had operation August 16th and stayed in the hospital until Tuesday. He was on leave for his work because he needs to recuperate. During that time, we didn't discuss about our travel. Hubby tried his best to get better and followed doctor's order. When he went back to his surgeon to have his stitches checked (and removed the staples on his tummy), his doctor was happy that he progressed well, but of course, it cannot be denied that he got thinner. His doctor said that he is fit to travel but he needs to move slowly and avoid lifting heavy objects. He will be excused for work for 30 days.

When our trip was nearing, that was the time hubby and I discussed about Hong Kong. He wished to join but also hesitant because he felt he would just slow down our activities. We both talked about it and that there was a big possibility that he can't go with us. I was thinking of cancelling it but he wanted us to proceed without him. He will help me with the planning anyway. He was only thankful that my mom joined us with this plan coz at least she's there to help me.

So finally, my mom, me and my 2 kids were off to Hong Kong. Hubby printed, googled, researched all things that I need in going to HK because we didn't hire a travel agency. The "burden" was left under my shoulder but thanks to Google map street view, I was able to visualize the place we were going to stay.

The MRT map was readily printed, our hotel was also contacted that the name of the lead guest will be changed under my name instead of my husband's. How to locate our place riding a bus from the airport was also readied as well as what to expect when we arrived at HK airport and where to proceed.

I just can't believed that I managed all of those. I was even able to bring my mom & kids to Disneyland riding a train just using the map. If I don't have the guts to do it, we might be stuck up in our hotel room, haha. But I was braving everything because hubby believed in me and yes, I prayed, too. And I want us to enjoy this short trip with or without my hubby and glad everyone had fun.

I have to admit my stress level went up from time to time but my confidence always came back. I am not even ashamed to asked anyone if my direction was right and so far, people there were helpful.

We were planning to go to Ocean park the next day but cancelled it when I saw that the weather was not so good. I don't want to jeopardize my kids' health and safety especially baby Zoe. The place was quite far from our hotel, too, but the direction going there was quite easy. But still, I have to prioritize my kids. So we just went to Avenue of Stars and took pictures there. And before we went back to our hotel, we bought souvenir items for a fair price.

I'll be posting pics next time because I need to arrange them first. And my mind's still tired, all I want to do right now is to update my blogs :-)

Celebrating Birthday at Pryce Plaza Hotel

I've been planning to blog about my hubby's birthday and post some of our pics but I was too lazy to do it. Actually, not entirely lazy but am also busy at home that when it's time for me to use the computer, I don't have energy anymore to write anything that I ended up browsing and reading other entries. I even missed joining some memes! So finally, I will post the pictures taken a month ago, hubby's birthday celebration last April 28.

We had an overnight stay at Pryce Plaza hotel. The kids, especially Chloe, loved the place for she was able to swim on the pool. Baby Zoe was at first afraid but later joined us on the pool. The weather was perfect that afternoon. In the evening, we decided to go to the nearby mall and dined in there. I posted in my other entry about my hubby's birthday dinner where the staff at Bigby's sang a b-day song for him :) Our overnight stay was inclusive of 2 complimentary breakfast. We just add a little for Chloe but Zoe was free. Oh, since the hotel is offering a summer promo, we were able to avail big discount on our room. Such a happy birthday indeed! Below are the pics. My Halloween Escapade

I think I posted these pictures a very long time ago but am going to post it again coz I almost forgot all about these! I thought I didn't get the chance to celebrate Halloween but here I was, having a Halloween blast at L.A.'s Universal Studios. Gosh, this was eons ago but it seems like yesterday!

Halloween was not popularly celebrated in the Philippines until recently. It seems that the people are now enjoying this event. I've noticed that not only the kids wanted to wear their costumes but adults as well. Next year I might join my kids doing trick or treat at the mall (",)

Ozamiz City

We went to Ozamiz City the other weekend for a very important transaction and at the same time, to visit my BFF Katrina. The last time I was in Ozamiz was when I was in Grade 1. I studied my nursery in there, too, but because of my dad's work, we kept on transferring from one place to another.

Katrina is my best friend in high school here in CDO. Her Chinese-Fil husband lives in Ozamiz so she settled in there for good. She kept on inviting me visit her place but it never happened. But finally, it did happen and my husband and Chloe went along with me :-) We stayed there overnight at their guest house (with superb accommodation!) and I hope to go back in there to see their Dolphin Island, too. I posted some pictures below. Some will be posted at Chloe's Blog.

Lakbayan sa Pilipinas

I may have lived or travelled several places in the Philippines, but I've realized I need to travel more to get at least a grade of B, lolz...

So, before we try to go to foreign places, let's try to tour our own country first. You'd be amazed that there are so many things to see and beautiful scenery that can only be found ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES!

CAMIGUIN

"The Island of your imagination"

When I was young, I’ve been living from one place to another because of my dad’s work. We’ve been transferring from one place to another in Mindanao every year. These are the places I happened to live: Oroquieta City, Ozamiz City, Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Gingoog City, Butuan City…And as I blossomed into a young lady, I’ve been everywhere, too. I was actually trying to tour the Philippines. I went to Davao, General Santos, to Cebu, Bohol, Manila, Subic, Tagaytay/Batangas and as far as Baguio City. When I just got married, I was lucky enough to have toured the U.S. of A…. but never was I able to visit CAMIGUIN – “the land of your imagination”, as they quoted.

When my dad was still alive, he kept on promising me that we can have a vacation with him to Camiguin …But it had never happened. I did not resent, though, but I was thinking of going there myself or with my friends. My barkada once invited me to join them to go to Camiguin but my parents refused because it was a Holy Week. It should be a time for contemplating, praying and not to have a vacation somewhere else…

And when I got married, my husband Glenn is the one promising me to take me to Camiguin but it was never utilized. Every year, Glenn & his officemates were sent to Camiguin for a yearly planning so he was always on this island for many times. And after more than 6 years of blissful marriage and having an almost 5 year old daughter, I thought I can never have a vacation that is far away from our home.

But finally, I was on this island May of 2008. It was not even actually planned. It was a spur-of-the-moment plan! So, who does not believe in ‘dreams do come true’? Coz mine did! It was a tiresome travel even though we brought our car with us. And I was not used anymore in riding a boat. My daughter was a first-timer in everything but was so excited to think of riding a boat, staying in a hotel with a swimming pool and looking at the beach. And everything paid off when we arrived. It was indeed an island of my imagination. We stayed at Paras Resort, happy to be greeted and welcomed with free drinks and borloloys. View was awesome that I took many pictures in my cellphone and digicam. And of course, the presence of my family made everything complete in this very much delayed vacation in Camiguin.
