Hello everyone.... Happy December!
First of all, congratulations to Miss India for winning Miss Universe 2021 held in Israel today. A very deserving winπ
I was inactive from my social media accounts for awhile but that doesn't mean I am totally out of touch from the outside world. I still get updates from other sources, from Google or from YouTube (if I wanted to, lol). And I do check my Instagram from time to time but only for a short while.
Anyways, Miss Universe 2021 just concluded this morning in our country (last night from your country) and I was just happy with the result especially to our Miss Philippines delegate, Beatrice Luigi Gomez. I have to admit that I love watching the MU pageant since I don't remember when π But ever since our country started to place again in the top 5, 10 or 21 (and often winning), it become more fun to watch every year. And even if I have other favorites, I have always supported our own delegate and always rooted for her because, hey, she's representing our country ;-)
But it is just sad to know that a lot of my fellowmen are more focused on the negative side to the point of bashing our own candidate. I even felt bad for our 2020 candidate because people expected too much from her, telling her to do this and that to the point of pressuring her. In the end, she broke down.
So, for our 2021 candidate, I am glad that she is not that super active in social media or she might read comments that might affect her mental health.
Another thing, some of this so-called pageant experts are criticizing Bea for not giving them the things that they are looking for. I have visited some of their sites on YT and I have realized that they are looking for a contestant to give them the kind of looks or faces or that kind of twist or twirl that they wanted because that is their criteria of winning. Seriously?! Glad you are not the judges if that is the case because if what you are only looking for in all pageants, they will become boring and nothing exciting to look forward to. I am so tired hearing from some of saying "give me the fierce look" or "smize". If I were to recall, that is so 2015. Pia Wurtzbach already gave us that. In 2018, Catriona Grey gave us that. It may still work these days but okay, enough of that, please? Let them make it different from each other. That's the judges' jobs, okay? Not yours -- yes you π.
For Bea not to do all those things to satisfy you during preliminary competition (yes, you "pageant experts" who are so demanding), that was actually good for some of us. So what if she smiled a lot? In this time of Pandemic, I would prefer to look at someone who smiles a lot or could light up the whole place just by smiling at me to lift my spirit up.
I will not talk that much anymore because I am already satisfied with Bea placing in the top5 and proving her critics wrong. It's hard to put a good woman down and you cannot just beat that.
Most of all, don't be too harsh on any candidates if you are making a review. You can give critics but you have no right to say that their performance is very weak and no energy. If you thought you are helping them, you are NOT. Some of them already suffered enough so, stop it!
Lift. Them. Up!
If you have a platform like YT where you have plenty of followers, be careful of what comes out from your mouth especially if you are not even present at the event. That is why, it's nice listening to Siera Bearchell or Dani Walker because they give subtle criticisms to think they have an experience competing on an international beauty pageants so their opinions are more legit. They also know the feeling of each contestant. So, for those who can't hold back their tongues, I wish you were the ones competing on the stage and let's see. Lessen your arrogance for once. You don't have the right to harshly criticize the candidates (unless they do something horrible). If you keep doing that, it will come back to you. And don't blame your viewers if they criticize you, too, coz you ask it yourself.
Again, congratulations to Miss Philippines and may you continue to be your authentic self. Top 5 is a big feat so we are celebrating with you π₯
**Sorry for some errors coz I am in a hurry and have other things to do. I will come back later to edit**
I used to work-out during my younger days to keep myself fit. I was young, single and working six-days a week then and going to a fitness center was my way of relaxation. As time passed, I got married and eventually had kids. These days, time is a leisure so I don't do workouts anymore. I am more focused on my family, my kids and online job. Gone were the days where I felt physically fit. But I also did not imagine that this day would come that I will be in need a shapewear. I am not that big, though, but it's just that my body is not anymore proportion. I went to the mall a few days ago and the the first thing I was looking for was their best shapewear for tummy and waist.
For a slightly slim figure, my tummy just ruined my chances of wearing cocktail dresses or fitted clothes these days. Gee, I really have to find ways on how to reduce this but I guess buying items that would make my tummy flat for a day would not hurt. The saleslady at the mall was kind enough to show me some of their products. She suggested that I try their full body shaper that controls more on the tummy. I did try it and it fits perfectly fine. Glad it was not that expensive, too, and without thinking twice, I bought it. They have beige and black colors available but I chose the latter one.
But before I went to the mall, I actually checked online about shapewears so that it would not take me a lot of time looking for what I really wanted. Airslim shapewear was also nice and I thought of looking for it at the store. However, the products were only available online and they were only limited stocks according to the saleslady at the mall. Anyway, if you are also interested, you can also this online. It comes in different sizes and colors. I might even order one of these days as a gift for myself. It is for my own confidence so I do not quite feel bad about it ;-)
The pandemic may have altered some of our activities but that does't mean we can't go on with our lifestyle. With the new normal, my kids have adjusted staying at home and adapted online learning. Hubby and I are also extra careful every time we go out to buy essentials, like wear face masks and face shields, and more importantly, bring isopropyl alcohol. I'm sure glad there's Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol, which not only provides up to 12 hours of protection but has moisturizing properties so you won't have to worry about your hands drying on constant use.
Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol encourages Filipinos to live safe with many establishments slowly re-opening and allowing people to resume their pre pandemic lifestyles.
With the nationwide vaccination program in full force, Filipinos can slowly enjoy various activities such as more dining options as well as doing physical activities by going to the gym. However, health experts continue to remind everyone to not let their guards down even as we gradually go back to normal.
As there are reports of new and potentially more contagious variants, everyone must remain vigilant through following established health protocols and getting vaccinated so we can all continue to live safe and prevent the cases from surging again.
That’s why when we do essential errands such as buying groceries, exercising outdoors, or simply going outside, disinfecting your hands and any surface you interact with goes a long way to ensure living safely for you and your family.
One way to prevent the spread of the virus is by always carrying a trusted rubbing alcohol brand that contains at least 70& alcohol solution whenever you go outdoors.
Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol, the alcohol recommended by the Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM), can kill 99.9% of common germs and bacteria starts to kill them on contact so that you can safely do the activities you love wherever you are. Defensil also provides up to 12 hours of protection upon constant use so that you are protected and do activities with ease.
Skin dryness from too frequent sanitizing will also not be a worry as Defensil has moisturizing properties and is hypoallergenic, giving you one less thing to worry about when going indoors.
"We are 100% behind the government in their efforts to prevent further spread of the virus. Defensil encourages everyone to remain vigilant now more than ever and do our part in this fight towards eventually resuming our normal way of life by adhering to social Distancing and sanitation protocols, especially when doing essential errands outdoors," shared Nikko Cruz, Brand Manager of Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol.
For more information on how to stay protected, you may visit the Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol’s Facebook page at facebook.com/defensil.philippines.

My kids are still doing their online classes over a year now but despite everything, I am grateful to their schools and teachers for the continued distance learning. COVID-19 may have disrupted our usual activities but that does not mean that we stop also with our lives instead, find ways to go on and adapt to the new normal.
It would have been fun for our kids to see other people like they used to, and for us to see our family and friends without worrying. However, while the virus is not yet fully eliminated, let us take care of our health first in order to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our friends. Most importantly, get vaccinated. These are the only options for now.
How about you? How are your kids coping? I hope they are doing fine and still enjoyed their virtual classes. Remember, this is just temporary. Let's continue to pray and hope that this will be over soon, and everything will be back to the way it used to be. Have a great day!
Celebrities are worth a lot of money because they’re almost always in high demand. People want to rub elbows with the elite and know what they’re like in person. Although they’re just people like the rest of us: they can cost millions of dollars just for a single performance.
These are some facts on why celebrity visits may cost so much and what you can do to offset that and make the night even more magical.
If you want to hire a celebrity, you have to be reasonable when considering your budget. For example, Beyonce charges around two million for a performance at a wedding or other small gathering.
Other celebrities may charge far less depending on how famous they are and how in-demand they are. Although some B and C-list stars will continue to keep their rates up, avoid overpaying. If you can get a more popular and beloved star for the same amount of money: do it.
When you hire a celebrity, it's a good idea to know what's included in that payment. Are you paying for them to simply show up, or will they be performing for the crowd?
Although performances are more obvious for singers and musicians, many actors and actresses may agree to monologue or sing happy birthday to the guest of honor. It's important to discuss this before you pay to know what you're setting yourself up for.
Is this a birthday party or a corporate event? Some stars will do discounted rates for causes or companies they care more about. Although this can be seen as a form of advertising, it makes it easier for corporate parties to hire someone with some glitz and glamor.
Some stars may not feel comfortable performing at specific types of parties, like bachelor or bachelorette gatherings, so read their contracts and be clear in what you want and when.
How long is the celebrity going to be making their appearance or performing? The longer and more intensive it is: the more it's going to cost. Please pay attention to timing, and consider hiring other bands or musicians to pad out the time around their appearance. This allows you to create a space where it doesn't feel like a party strictly for the sake of hiring a celebrity when they have other things to focus on.
Talk to their management and find out how long they’re willing to perform for, what that performance includes, and whether or not they’re okay with other musical guests opening and closing for their performance.
How far does the celebrity have to travel for the event? Is it within the same city as them? The same state? Although this may be shocking to consider for some, many celebrities are willing to travel for an additional fee.
This fee will cover the time they're in transit and will also pay for the transit itself. Some celebs may want to travel first class, but it’s worth it if you can get the one you want!

But let us be reminded that we should still practice social distancing, wear facemask and do handwashing even though we are already fully vaccinated. It does not guarantee that we don't get sick at all. After receiving my first shot, I stayed home most of the time. I don't go out because I am also protecting my family at home, especially my kids who are not yet vaccinated.
My eldest child, who just turned 18, have recently registered and is scheduled to have her 1st vaccination. I hope and pray that she will be fine with not much side effects. My youngest child is still 11 years old and not yet given a go signal by the DOH to be vaccinated so I am planning to have her receive a Flu vaccine soon.
Reminder also to all of us who already got vaccinated to not be so judgmental of others who did not yet get their jab. Some of them might not have a schedule yet (took me 3 months to be texted), or some of them might be experiencing undisclosed health problems and others just wanted to be mentally and psychologically ready. We can offer our help or knowledge about vaccine but not to the point of being too judgmental and very harsh towards them. Don't be so feeling high and mighty after you receive your jab. Comparing vaccines won't help either. As if we have a choice which vaccine to get. So, be kind, be understanding and just extend your helping hand in any way you can π€π
When I was a child, my late father introduced me to card games, which soon became a form of our family bonding every weekend. Meanwhile, my mother preferred to play solitaire, a card game that is played solo. It got me interested as well and I even liked the sound every time my mom shuffled the cards. Even as I grew up, I still played solitaire and would often buy cards for myself to play.
Thanks to modern technology, one can virtually play solitaire on the screen. However, I was initially prejudiced about it due to my assumption that solitaire played virtually would be lackluster compared to the traditional way. But out of boredom, I decided to give the computer-based solitaire a chance, and that is when I noticed how similar it was to the real ones.
At some point did I stumble upon Solitaire.org, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover the wide variety of games they offered. I first attempted the game called Play 21 Blitz Online, where I have to create a set number of twenty-one matches either vertically or horizontally, to move to the next level. While I do think that this is the ideal past-time in the virtual context, I am still fairly certain that anybody who has mastered the art of cards would be more accustomed to the game's sequence. Here is a preview of the game:
I used to be so concern with what other people would say if ever I go M.I.A on Fb, but lately, I tried to put myself first before anything else. I do not care anymore what others would think, and I don't need validation from anyone. But, I do not need to uninstall or deactivate my account, I just don't have to login.
However, I have to admit I logged in on rare times since I am a member of some groups which require me to posts important announcements on my social media accounts. So, that was all I did, I logged in, post the requirements then log out.
There are reasons why I am doing these. Inasmuch as I wanted to be updated with the news especially about the pandemic and what's going on around my surroundings, I am also easily affected with the sad news. And it makes me more sad if I know the people on the news. Death toll related to COVID-19 just kept on rising and a lot of my friends post lighted candles on their walls which makes me even more worried. Global pandemic had never slowed down in different parts of the world, news about the extremists and violence rose up here and there. There were also those who took their own lives due to depression and others just kept on ranting on their walls just because they feel like they have to...honestly, these kind of things were too much to for me to read. I do not think I need to know all so for my own sake, I decided to lie-low on FB for over a month now.
From time to time, I am also battling with my own mental health but I am just glad that my kids kept me going. I'm tired and weary but I have to keep going and staying away from social media was one of the best decisions I've made lately.
I am only visible in Messenger for emergency reasons and also on Instagram, because it's less toxic there, and all I see are beautiful pictures and it puts a smile on my face... and that's what I need.
I used to reach out to some of my friends also even before pandemic, asking them of how they were and exchanged updates with our lives. However, I've noticed it was always me who to tried to reach out to them. And when I was silent or was in my lowest moments, nobody even bothered to call or message me. Some friends, huh? So, now, I don't do the first move anymore. And it just got me thinking, perhaps they will only remember me if something happen to me (God forbid!).
Another lesson I learned these days is never to always agree to the person who thought they did the right thing, just to make them feel better. Because when it's your turn, they would just belittle you and make you feel that they are superior. I am done with these kinds of sh*T.
What actually surprises me are the people I talk rarely for years were the ones reaching and checking me out these days. They were my childhood friends who I lose contact because of their busy lives. The other day, I got a message from my college friend. She just check how I was and that was all. But I appreciated so much her gesture. These are the people who are worth keeping.
Anyways, just sharing my sentiments. I am slowly trying to be visible but in my own pace and not tried not to be dictated by the society who think that being too vocal about anything makes one a better person. As if your opinion is always right, right? It's also a waste of my time arguing to people who don't listen at all or never tried to put themselves in somebody else's shoes.
Well, in case someone stumble on my blog and read this post, now you know what's inside my head lately. I have so much to say but well, as long as I can still hold them, I will just have to share them when I feel like it. This is it for now.
Globe continues to celebrate and promote press freedom through the 9th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA). GMEA recognizes media practitioners and content creators from Visayas and Mindanao who excelled in their field of work amid the challenges posed by the global health crisis.
The theme for this year is Padayon Digital—a play on the Visayan word, padayon, which means to continue. It is a tribute to the media’s diligence in moving forward to digital spaces and a symbol of Globe's consistent support to the Visayas and Mindanao press. Support is crucial in the new normal and GMEA brings that message across by spotlighting stories that uplift lives and communities.
“We’re proud to host the Globe Media Excellence Awards, now in our ninth year, to recognize the outstanding work of the VisMin press. Amid the ongoing pandemic, the roles of media, bloggers and social media influencers have been most crucial in keeping the public credibly informed and have played a part in helping people see through the health crisis,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior VP for Corporate Communications.
There will be nine awards for digital and print, two for broadcast, and three special awards. All entries must be anchored on at least one of four Globe sustainability pillars: Care for Environment, Positive Societal Impact, Care for People, and Digital Nation, in line with Globe's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Categories for digital and print are Explanatory / Investigative Story of the Year, News Report of the Year, Column of the Year, Explanatory / Investigative Video Story of the Year for Digital, Photo of the Year for Digital, Breaking News of the Year for Digital, Social Media Advocacy of the Year for Digital, and Digital Storytelling (Best Blog Post and Best Social Media Video).
For broadcast, the categories are News Report of the Year for Radio and News Report of the Year for TV. The special awards are Newsmaker of the Year, Editor of the Year, and #KwentoNgTagumpay: Uplifting Lives Through Digital Technology. This last award recognizes inspiring stories of triumph amid adversities of communities and individuals.
Globe first launched its Media Excellence Awards in 2012 to encourage excellence among traditional media organizations and, later on, digital media practitioners to create positive societal changes. GMEA 2021 covers Bacolod, Cebu, Tacloban, Bohol, Dumaguete, and Iloilo in Visayas and Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos, Iligan, Bukidnon, and Zamboanga in Mindanao.
Cash prizes await winners of each category. Entries may be in English, Bisaya, Hiligaynon, or Chavacano. The deadline for submission is December 31, 2021.

I do not usually post-politics, and I refrain from discussing or debating online, especially if one's views are different. It is going to be useless. We all have the freedom to express our opinion and to decide who is best for us. But nobody has the right to mock someone or insult anyone else's decision because they chose somebody, not to their liking, and vice versa.
But today, I wanted to pay my respect to the former President of the Philippines, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III or PNoy to many. He died on June 24, 2021, at 61 years old, after battling some serious health condition (renal disease). He is now laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park in ParaΓ±aque City.
Growing up, I have witnessed the leadership of PNoy's mother, Cory Aquino. She was the face of EDSA People Power in 1986. I wasn't that of a big fan then, but I respected her, especially when she was able to end the 20-year ruling of the Philippine dictator, former President Marcos. After she made a new constitution, I remembered she removed many Marcos cronies from the office and shut down many businesses that supported the previous ruler. But I was very young to understand then. Perhaps she had valid reasons to do that. Amidst all the coup attempts to overthrow her, she remained the country's President and stepped down after 6 six, a new rule drafted and approved in the 1987 constitution.
By the year 2010, PNoy ran for president months after his mom died. I was old enough to vote, but I voted for another candidate for a personal reason. However, I had high respect for him. He was a good man, after all. Being a citizen of the country, I have to abide by the laws set by the new government. He may have some flaws, but nobody is perfect. No administration in the Philippines was perfect for the majority, but let us just focus on the former president's leadership. PNoy was able to at least stabilize the country's economy; he fought the country's right of the West Philippine Sea, he was able to save a fellow man who was about to be hanged in another country, and so on and so forth. He made some failed decisions that angered the citizens, like the SAF44, the hostage-taking, the rotating brownout in Mindanao (that annoyed me so much), and the Yolanda typhoon. Still, I think it was not fair that he was the only one to blame the latter issue as he had repeatedly warned the people to evacuate...
Anyway, when he stepped down, I could say he was a decent man despite not pleasing everyone. Personally speaking, I appreciated his 6-year term. I was free to criticize and admire some of his administrative members; I could watch the News on television without being alarmed. I was not a fan when he implemented the K1-12, but I have to understand it...well, those were just some of the things I remembered.
He may not be the greatest leader, but he sure was a good man, a respectable one, and a good son. Rest well now, Sir...
