Where's the Party?

Sharing a rare photo of me being dolled up & dressed to the nines 😜 This pic was a year old already but I don't remember posting it here in my blog. I attended our blogger's anniversary last year and the theme was somewhat red-carpet worthy in gold and black formal attire.

Good thing I kept some dresses that were given to me by my hubby's aunt who resides in the US. I kept this black dress for years and glad I didn't give it away or else I have nothing to wear on this particular event, lol.

I don't know if I look good on this dress but I'd like to believe I did, harhar. Most bloggers had the same make-up artist that night that I thought we probably looked the same, haha.

The party was a success and ended well. We had great food and we were provided with a good venue. Glad it didn't rain because we were at the roofdeck of a building. Everyone was full, had a good laugh and I think the anniversary was celebrated just everybody wanted it to be.

3 Things To Rent for Your Party

Planning a big event is a lot of work. Whether you’re throwing a graduation party or are helping host a more formal wedding on your property, you’ll need to consider everything from the food to the seating. Here are three things you don’t want to overlook when deciding what to rent.

Chair Rentals

If you have a big house or yard, you don’t have to worry about renting a location – but have you considered where all your guests are going to sit? Do some research on chair rentals Oahu to see what kind of chairs will work best for your event. If you’re throwing a casual backyard barbeque, you can get away with folding chairs or even beach chairs. You will also be able to find fancier chairs at varying heights to suit your needs.

Tents

An outdoor event will give you plenty of room and allow your guests to enjoy the weather. Just make sure that you have a plan to protect everyone from the elements, be it the sweltering sun or a surprise rainstorm. Having plenty of tents will put your mind at ease and ensure that you have a back-up plan if it rains all day. Don't forget to set out some tiki torches or citronella candles to keep the bugs at bay.

Caterer

You may think that you can cook for a huge amount of people, but save yourself the headache and book a caterer. This will allow you to better focus on your other hosting duties and give you time to mingle with your guests. A professional staff will handle everything from set-up to clean-up, and your guests will rave about the delicious menu.
Hosting an event doesn’t have to be stressful. Allow yourself to delegate and know that there’s no shame in renting whatever you need to pull off a fun, successful party.

Gimme a Break

My youngest child's 3rd Quarter exam is scheduled next week and as usual, I'm the one who gets stressed. I dunno why I am such a worrywart but I cannot help it. As of today, Thursday, I am gathering all her quizzes, long tests and seatworks for this quarter to be used as her reviewer. But I wish I am like other moms who just chill and worry about nothing and let the fate decide - but I'm not!

Image result for mom worrying her children's exam

I have every reason to be worried, too, because my 2nd child is different from her older sister. But I hope and pray that she will get good grades despite all the pressures she's going thru. How about you other moms out there? How do you study with your kids? Was it relaxing or stressful?

I cannot wait for her exams  to be over so that she can have fun during Christmas break --- so am I! After next week, both my eldest and youngest will have a 2-week Christmas vacation from school and that's a lot of fun for me, too!

Planning Your NYC Vacation

New York City is one of the world’s top tourist locations for a reason. While it may the city that never sleeps, there are so many things to do that there still isn’t enough hours in the day for all of them. It’s hard to pick and choose, but these activities are absolute must-dos.

See a Broadway Show

One of the best things about the bright light city is the entertainment. Read NYC theater reviews to pick the best show for your family. It has the world’s best talent and showstopping stage effects. There are always new, amazing shows on Broadway such as “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hansen”. If you’re bringing your family, there are Disney classics such as “Lion King” and “Frozen”. If you’re a fan of old-school musicals, there are revivals of some of the classics such as “The Music Man” and “My Fair Lady.”

Visit NYC's Signature Spots

There is plenty of sightseeing to do in Manhattan. Sight-seeing tour buses can take up time that you can’t afford to lose. Instead download a subway app and hit the most important locations on your own. Take a stroll through Central Park if the weather allows and visit the zoo while you’re at it. Climb up the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Take the ferry to Ellis Island.

Experience the Art Scene

New York City can be as educational as it is entertaining. There are plenty of museums to that cater to the interests of all demographics. Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Museum of Natural History to learn about history of all over the world. The Museum of Modern Art has artwork from all of today’s most significant artists. The Guggenheim is a great place to observe abstract art.
It’s easy to be overwhelmed in a city as exciting as the Big Apple. If you plan ahead and make time for these attractions, your New York City trip will be worthwhile.

I Left My Heart In Iloilo

I never thought that I would fall in love to this place I never even planned on visiting. It was last year (2018) when we (bloggers) were invited by AirAsia to ride in their maiden flight from CDO to Iloilo (RT). I never thought of joining them. I wasn't interested coz of some reasons (excuses, actually). But my sister in law forced me to join coz this would be fun and for me to have, well, some "ME" time. I'm a full-time mom and never had a break and that was an opportunity for me to have a break for awhile. Besides, (my sis went on) it was my kids' Semestral break so I need not worry coz they don't classes for a week. And so, off I went ✈. Surprise, Surprise! I didn't realize how wide their road was. Traffic was not even bad. And the people I met were somehow respectful. And there were so many places to see. Wow! Where have I been?! And how I love the serenity of their river, they even have a boardwalk for people to stroll, or maybe exercise, and benches to sit. My sis and I savored the moment. We visited many tourist spots which was fun, we also went to their museum.
Sharing to you below a pic that I have at their River Esplanade. It was so calm in here, perfect to unwind and do some self-introspection.

However, our time there was limited and we only toured the main city. But of course we never forgot to visit their beautiful mall - Festive walk. I've realized then how much I love the place. I promised that I shall return -- and that I did a year later. Summer of 2019, my family and I, together with my brother-in-law's family, went to Iloilo and I was very glad to be their tour guide. I'll post about it next time (although I did post once here but only my pic appeared😁).
Thank you Iloilo. Your place is so beautiful. No wonder a lot of people fell in love with your city - me included ;-)

3 Ways To Save Money on Your Move

Moving to a new home can be an exciting time, however, the actual process of moving your stuff can be frustrating and expensive. Fortunately, there are ways you can save money on your moving expenses.

Purchase Used Packing Supplies

Purchasing new packing boxes and supplies can be very convenient, but one way you can reduce your packing costs is to utilize used packing supplies. If you have a friend who has moved recently, you might want to ask them if they have any extra boxes you can use. You may also be able to purchase used boxes from a used moving boxes st louis retailer. If you plan, you can begin saving the shipping boxes you get from your online purchases. Hang on to the packing materials as well. You may be able to use them to protect your fragile items. You can also check with local businesses to see if they have any boxes they will let you have.

Get Rid of Stuff You Don't Need

Getting rid of belongings you don't need can save you time and money when moving and also help prevent you from cluttering up your new space. You can help finance your move by selling items on craigslist, eBay or at a garage sale. You may also be able to donate some items to local charities or thrift stores. Throw out or recycle anything you don't need that doesn't have any value to anyone else either.

Move During the Off-Season

You can't always choose when you get to move, but if you can, you can save some money by moving between October and April. Because fewer people choose to move during those months, the prices charged by movers tend to be lower.
Moving is a process that many people dread. A little planning ahead can save you some money and make the process less painful.

My Daughter's First Communion

Hello to my Cookie's Corner followers (if I have any, lol). So, after changing the new look on my blog, I've been busy....or trying to get busy. I tried changing the header of my blog but decided to change it maybe after new year πŸ€”

I was about to write something personal but it all ended up in my mind only. Then I've realized it's already December!! Where did the time go? I  haven't even watched Frozen2 yet and maybe I might missed watching Jumanji 3 if I kept myself too preoccupied. I guess I really deserved a break!!

Anyways, I'll just share with you a wonderful milestone my youngest daughter achieved last  November. She had  her First Holy Communion and I couldn't be more happy and proud of her.
And I'm happy she was able to wear her  older sister's dress and veil πŸ˜€

Sharing our family picture with and hope you all have a blessed day.  Gotta go now coz I need to prepare lunch...

Ways to Thank Clients

When you’d like to show your appreciation for regular customers who purchase goods or services from your company, it may be difficult to find a gesture that’s professional and not overly personal. Strike the right balance with tokens that express your thankfulness to maintain your stellar working relationship and inspire loyalty for years to come.

Give Gifts

If you have customers that visit your shop on a regular basis, thank them with a treat when they walk through the door. A t-shirt, individually-wrapped corporate cookies Atlanta, a reusable water bottle or a lightweight cotton tote featuring your company logo would all be welcomed by clients. As a bonus, the giveaways will also serve as advertisements for your business as people use them in public.

Offer Perks

Give your clients benefits that will not only show your appreciation but also boost your business. Create a customer loyalty program such as a punch card system that offers a free item or discount after someone purchases a certain number of items or dollars’ worth of merchandise. You can also offer a structure that enables people to earn points for purchases and redeem them for sample-sized products, company swag or full-sized items and deep discounts as they reach higher tiers.

Reward Followers

Companies hoping to build more of a presence on social media can offer customer appreciation gifts for those who follow them on Twitter or Instagram, for example. Post a raffle offering entry for posting a comment or tagging a friend and choose a winner at random. You can also offer a hidden code in a photo that clients can find or a phrase that they can utter in person at the store to receive a discount.
Thanking your customers for their loyalty is an important way to improve communication and encourage their continued business. The effort you put into a sincere gesture can pay off with an even more successful relationship in the future.

Foodpanda Launches Delivery Service in CDO Starting November 2019!

Food panda, the biggest online food ordering and delivery service, has finally in  Cagayan de Oro City starting November 2019. I had the opportunity to attend their Grand launching last November 26, 2019 held at Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant at Ayala Centrio Mall.

Foodpanda was founded in May 2012 in Berlin, Germany and operating in more than 40 countries with 45,000 restaurant partners globally. The delivery service is currently active in more than 500 cities, and the last addition to their growing list this 2019 in Mindanao is the City of Golden Friendship - Cagayan de Oro City.

Kagay-anons do not need to memorize delivery numbers for restaurants anymore -- as foodpanda has over 100+ restaurants in the city to choose from the app. With the wide array of cafes and restaurants, people in CDO can now  enjoy a hint of international cuisines from American, Chinese and Japanese to the well-loved local food of Cagayan de Oro right on their doorstep. Whatever it is you're craving, foodpanda has it.

"We are very happy to add Cagayan de Oro to our list of cities that we provide delivery for. The team believes that the city is an undeserved market with lots of potential for food delivery. And as always, we intend to bring the best experience in food delivery to consumers - we are exited to see very eager and encouraging feedback from partner restaurant and customers", says Ryven Barrio, foodpanda's Cluster Head for Mindanao.

Using the foodpanda app is hassle-free - just log on to the foodpanda website or download the app (available in the AppStore and Google Play Store) and follow these simple steps to enjoy fast and dependable service.

1. Create an account or login using your Facebook account.
2. Select your current location, then choose your preferred restaurants.
3. Simply select the ffod you want to order and add them to your basket.
4. Review your order in the basket then click on proceed to check out.
5. On the checkout page, you can enter a discount voucher code if you have one. Payment options include Cash on Delivery, Online Payment (Credit Card) or Paypal.
6. After placing your order, a confirmation message will be sent to your mobile number.
7. After your order has been confirmed, all you have to do is wait for the foodpanda rider to deliver your food and enjoy.

foodpanda's delivery service is available in Cagayan de Oro starting November 2019! From then, Kagay-anons do not need to stress out looking for parking or walking in the scorching heat on a sunny day or in rainy weather as foodpanda will bring what you are craving for -- fresh as good as dining-in -- in the comfort of your home!

Keeping My Blog's New Lewk

Hello Monday!

It's quite surprising on my part to write another blogpost today. Usually, it would take me a month or months to do it, hehe. Guess I'm just overwhelmed with my new theme which I decided to keep. And hooray to myself for (finally!) being able to customized my own header. It's a big step for me coz I don't know how to do it. My old theme was customized by a blogger friend and my other blogs' headers were customized by my sister-in-law. Now that I'm learning, I'm thinking of changing again my header. I'm actually currently working on it. Was hoping to add some tulip flowers on my new header but  took me a lot of time editing it. I must utilize my time coz I need to prepare some worksheets for my child to practice for her upcoming English test tomorrow.

In case you're wondering why I chose the theme with books, it's because I love reading books but it's been about 2-3 years that I forced myself to stop buying at bookstore or downloading books online when I started developing vertigo. Sad, huh? But health first...

Anyhoo, how's your Monday? Mine's no different and you might be bored if I start to enumerate it. But I hope yours is great!! Gotta leave you some flowers and wishing you a wonderful week!

My Blog's New Look

After thinking it over and over again, after how many years, I've finally decided to change the layout of my blog. I love my old layout but I guess now's the time for change. I still kept my badge though.

I'm not sure  if my new theme clicked my personality, or if it will attract new (and old) readers :-). I just need change...and for me to rediscover myself again (really?).

I made this blog years ago as my personal diary. Later, I welcomed adverts and will  still welcomed them if they will ask... But later, I found my blog so boring to read, with no updates and nothing interesting to share. I know I often promised to say something that I need to tell but didn't. So many things held me back. I felt that if I share too much my soul would be bared. I felt that if I  share some personal things about my struggles, about my family, about my life, at the back of my mind, I'm scared if I would be judged. I don't even want my post to be controversial, heck, I don't even wish that it would become viral (as if it would)...but yeah, these are some of my concerns.

I have a lot to share actually but just quite scared that the people I'm protecting will be subject to scrutiny, that they might be judged. Oh well, here goes my being super secretive again. Just hoping that on my next post, I'll be brave enough to share and hope to inspire others.

Anyways, going back to my blog's new look, I'm not even sure if this is final. I'm still considering the other simple  theme that Blogger had it customized. I love that color red-themed though coz it's also my favorite color. Lemme just sleep this new layout for a night and see what I plan to do tomorrow.

** And oh, by the way, in case you're one of the followers of my other blogs, I gave them up already as I cannot keep  track of them. It's hard to update if you have plenty of  blogs to concern about, especially if you're paying for the domain and not anymore  earning from it. Well, that's the truth. Except for Cookie's Corner, I will retain this as I've grown some personal attachment to it. Here are some of my blogs that don't exist anymore:

Contemplating Is What I Do Best...

Hi! Sorry for being 'silent' for a while. I was  quite busy... Or shall I say, I have other more important matters to attend to that updating my blog is quite a luxury for me to do.

Even in my social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram) were hardly updated. Although I often check them from time to time, but sharing something on my wall or page takes a  lot of effort  for me to do.

Actually, I've so much to say and so much to share...but in the end, I chose to be silent. I always weigh things if they are good or worthy to share. I  do believed they are worthy but decided in the end to keep things to myself (yet) if I'm not ready to be bombarded with questions that I don't have time to reply.

Yes, I guess I'm like that πŸ€” - always contemplating that in the end, I'd rather keep things and let my lone self worry about it.

Sometimes, it's ironic that I tend to share some personal stuff to people not really  that close to me but somehow respect my personal views. More often that not, I really wanted to talk to people who already build a relationship towards me but  I tend to hold back when I remember the things they say or their opinion towards other people before it happened to  me.

I mean they gave a not so nice opinion to others about something. And a year (or years) later, that something happened to me (or to my family - my kids, especially). So, can you blame me for not sharing it to them instead?

It's actually quite surprising that some people who are not my bff or my kins are the ones who are most sensitive to what I feel. They're the ones letting me feel that it's okay to be quiet and it's okay to share when I'm ready. They also respected my privacy by not sharing to others what I went thru. They're only a handful you know, and I appreciate that. They're the people I lest expected to lend me an ear (and hand, if necessary) should I feel down. Privacy is everything to me. That's why I also do the same to others should they asked for it. I don't just share some details of my close friend to another close friend especially if it doesn't concern them.

But there were also instances that some people not really close to me, who at  first  shared concern to my woes, and later managed to unmasked my weakness and tried to sound concern wherein actually, they just insulted my well-being.

Well, I guess you're confuse with what I'm saying  here in case you're reading my blog. I kept promising to share some of the things I've been thru lately or for the past years. I really do. But I'm too tired to write now ✌ I hope I can share it with you in my next entry. I'm still drafting it and hope to post it soon and (hope to) inspire others with my journey πŸ’•

Summer Fun in the Sun at Seven Seas Waterpark

At my back is the Cyclone water slide
Ahoy Mateys!

CDOBloggers had its first General Membership Meeting for the year 2019 last May 11 at Seven Seas Water Park Resort located at Zone 1, Opol, Cagayan de Oro City. It started in the morning and concluded at 6 in the evening. It was also a great time for the old and new members of CDOBloggers to bond and get to know each other well.

however, my daughter and I (daughter is also a member) had prior commitments, so, we almost didn't make it to the GMM. We arrived very late at 4:30pm (not to mention I got lost on the road even though I used waze. I ended up using another shortcut but it was narrow...but glad we still made it!).
I guess we missed a lot of activities earlier in the day, like touring the place and experiencing all the rides but my daughter still had the best remaining 2 hours in her life at the pool while I took some pics :-)

About Seven Seas

Seven Seas Waterpark is described as 'the first world class, largest and pirate-themed waterpark in the Philippines. Seven Seas is just minutes from the bustling metropolis of Cagayan de Oro, which is the gateway to the Philippine's food basket and a popular adventure tourism destination. The nearby Laguindingan airport is readily accessible from the waterpark and future development of port facilities, hotels, resorts and food establishments in Opol will enhance the attractiveness of the seven (7) hectares facility for locals and out of towners alike.'
Anyways, sharing to you some pictures I took at Seven Seas. In this picture you can see some attractions of Seven Seas such as: The Cyclone, The Buccaneer Bay, Pira-Chute, Plank Drop. I promised myself to try all these rides the next time I come here. It looks scary but I think it's fun to try. Besides, you can always see lifeguards roaming and checking around. They also have other rides or attractions that I wasn't able to take pics like the Captain Kidd's hideout, Pacific Racer, Cannon ball run, Riptide Reef, Fuerte de San Agustin, Escape Tunnel and Mighty Maui River.

Below are some pictures of me with the matey's:
Next time I come back, I'll make sure to take a lot of pictures in every corner. This place is really great for a family or barkada outing and a perfect place to relax and unwind.

* Thanks to Bogie's Wonderland for my other pics ;-)

Vivo V15 Pro Helps You Shoot Professional-Grade Looking Images

Mobile photography is no longer limited to food shots and selfies. These days, even professional photographers rely heavily on their smartphones when capturing images that evoke a lot of emotions. A photo is a great way to communicate a message or even just to update loved ones of a recent trip.

It may seem such a waste when an extraordinary location is not properly photographed. It's almost an injustice if the colors of a beautiful garden are either too bright or overexposed.

One doesn't have to break the bank to get professional-grade images.

The Vivo V15 Pro's 48MP Triple Rear Camera addresses photography issues such as exposure, lowlight conditions, and sharpness, among others. The camera’s AI (artificial intelligence) component elevates mobile photography experience to the next level with its 12MP standard + 8MP super wide-angle + 5MP depth-sensing camera setup.

With its 48 Million Quad Pixel Sensor, the Vivo V15 Pro offers photography enthusiasts more than just stunning photos. It is almost certain that the photograph will have a crispier and more natural-looking image compared to those taken with lower megapixels.

In travel photography, landscape photos are a must. No portfolio is complete without a shot of the horizon or breathtaking flower fields. Mobile photographers can rely on Vivo V15 Pro's 8MP AI Super Wide-Angle Camera to do the job. Users don't have to change lenses depending on the need of the shot. Just press on the feature and it's ready to immortalize an image. The AI Super Wide-Angle Camera can expand up to 120 degrees, capturing more people and fuller landscape shots.

The 5MP Depth Depth-Sensing Camera will add more drama and effects on the captured image.

To deliver high-quality 12MP images, the Vivo V15 Pro's main rear camera has a 4-in-1 pixel technology. It means that one large pixel is combined with four pixels so that even in low light or even dark conditions, the images will still come out better.

With its Professional Mode feature, the Vivo V15 Pro can pretty much do the work of DSLR cameras.

Users who want to learn photography can practice by enabling the smartphone's Pro Mode capabilities. Adjust the aperture when taking a photo in dark or confined spaces such as hotels or function rooms. Test how the shutter speed works by adjusting it when taking a photograph of a race or moving vehicles. One can also play with the Manual Feature when taking photos of a city skyline — at night.

However, there is Vivo V15 Pro's AI Super Night Mode that can take multiple photos at different exposures. The finished product is a stunning combination of these shots. Night scenes are difficult to shoot, but through this feature, anyone can achieve a clear and beautiful night scene.

This enables images taken with the Vivo V15 Pro to be used in other platforms and not only for social media posts.

Still, for Instagrammers who like sharing their photographs to family and friends and feel limited by the available editing features, the Vivo V15 Pro's Editing Features can help them achieve just the right amount of brightness, contrast, or even saturation in their images.

Limited time offer

Northern Mindanao Food Fest Bigger Than Ever!

About 5 years ago, Big Bite Food Festival in Northern Mindanao uncovered an exciting food culture in the region. Founded by Centrio Ayala Mall, it has become mall management’s great pride and joy to discover new and innovative food entrepreneurs and enthusiasts comprising an incredibly dynamic local food industry.

The first Big Bite Food Festival was held in Marquee mall in Pampanga, a regional food haven in the North. Further down south in 2014, Mindanao followed suit with Cagayan de Oro’s then brand new Centrio Ayala mall offering itself as venue. Both festivals form part of Ayala mall’s institutionalized support for local food business and concepts.

Big Bite features the obvious massive-sized food items as festival highlight. Past years have revealed the giant halo-halo, the region’s largest maja blanca, enormous ham sliders, a colossal pineapple crumble and an oversized bowl of salad among a host of other interesting savory flavors and dessert delights in gigantic portions. In addition to such titanic highlights, Centrio gives an award to the year’s best food discovery, as judged by the country’s food industry leaders and celebrities.

This year, gracing the festivities is the Philippines’ Idol sa Kusina, Chef Boy Logro. The Chef Master of GMA network is joined by young television host and former VJ, Joyce Pring to oversee stimulating culinary competitions and other cooking events throughout the 4-day fiesta. Celebrity Chef JP Anglo, host of CNN’s Hungry with Chef JP will be the festival’s Special Guest; completing the set are some of the country’s top food bloggers including The Pickiest Eater in the World, Ritchie Zamora.

Big Bite regulars have come to expect fresh food concepts interspersed with all-time favorites from homegrown restaurants in the local food scene. What’s more, they are treated to excellent music featuring the best of local artists, and gastronomic sets in visually exhilarating scenes and instagrammable nooks and crannies which best showcase the epicurean pleasures the festival has to offer.

The Big Bite Northern Mindanao Food Festival runs from Thursday till Sunday, March 14-17, 2019.
