My daughter went with her aunt today. She was invited to a birthday party and my sister in law brought her there. I was almost panicky for I have not prepare a gift for the celebrant. Good thing that I stock some candies and goodies. I made it as a candy gift, wrap it with beautiful paper and put it inside the box and it sure look wonderful. I just hope the celebrant will like it. If you want to get an idea about Candy gift, you can visit Shopwiki and you can even shop in there. They offer great products from kids apparel to adult's footwear to music and everything else you can think of. Why don't you go there now?

My Last Prenatal Checkup
Re-post from my other blog
Since I was not able to see my OB-Gyne last week, I had my prenatal checkup today. My father-in-law drove me to the hospital and as usual, my daughter Chloe tagged along with me. My daughter was always present in my entire checkup and I'm also happy that my doctor tried her best to answer my daughter's questions. It seemed that today is my last prenatal checkup with her and we will see each other on July 12, my schedule for CS. I'm glad that my cough and cold subsided but I was warned still not to drink anything cold (darn! - can't take that) so that I won't be coughing or get sick during my operation. The baby's heartbeat was good and the gender of the baby was still the same - a girl :D. The baby's position was cephalic but lies oblique that's why I find the baby heavier on my left side than on my right.
I was already given an order or admission slip, and I was asked thoroughly this time about my previous experience with CS. They will be the one to notify my pediatrician, too, so I think all is set now. I'll just wait for another week and I'll finally get to see our new addition to our family. Chloe is very excited to see her baby sibling, too. She's been choosing names for her sister and we highly considered it. My husband and I both knew that we should give attention to our eldest daughter considering that she's been an only child for almost 7 years! We expected that she will somehow regress when she sees her baby sibling but we want her to feel that she is still loved and cared by us even when the baby comes out. I know this is quite a big challenge on my part, to be able to provide equal attention to both my kids. But as long as I'll show them how much they mean to me and how important they are, I guess everything will be alright.
Chloe will turn 7 comes July 18 and I was asked if I want the baby to be born on that day but I declined. I thought about their feelings in the future. I want them to enjoy their own day and to celebrate it in a special way. Some may say it's costly in celebrating 2 birthdays in a week but who said I will celebrate it that way? I can still have a joint celebration for them (if I'm saving :D) but what is important is that I have their birth dates separated. As I've said, I want them to enjoy their day :D

Chloe's School
Chloe goes to school everyday with her cousins who are also our neighbor. I am very thankful for that because I can't drive Chloe these days because of my very big tummy - so, bless my husband's relatives soul for offering to drive and fetch Chloe from school :D
Grade school is different now from her preschool. I have to check her work and assignments everyday unlike her preschool days that what she only bring was her snacks and everything was provided to them. Unlike now where she needs to have a huge bag to accommodate all her books and notebooks plus snacks and everything. I have to let her bring umbrella, too, because our weather these days is unpredictable. But so far, everything turned out good with Chloe. I always believed in her capabilities but of course, I should not rely on that and I know I need to attend to her to monitor her progress. Sometimes, kids will just get tired and you will never know if you don't try to bond with them....

Nostalgia
I'm feeling nostalgic today. Chloe, my 6 yrs & 11 months old daughter is already a grade 1 pupil. She's turning 7 years old next month and I can't help but recall the day when she was born. She was a gift from God & I remember how happy we were to have her in our lives. I used to rocked her, cradled her, sang lullabies for her (and danced, too) and a lot more. With just one glimpse, she just grew up, as if those times where just a fragment of my imagination. She may have learned basic things from me but I learn more a lot from her. It was thru her where I knew how to take care of babies. She taught me motherhood... Now, I'm getting really sentimental.
Since I am to give birth next month also, I guess taking care of my second born is not that difficult anymore. I mean, at least, I had an experienced already but I still welcome new challenges. After all, each child is unique but someway, somehow, I know what to expect.
Last week, I was forced to drive Chloe to her school as my husband was sent for a 3 week training in Manila. We thought this seminar would take place last May but it only happens now. I still agreed to let him attend as long as he will be home on my due date. What I was only worried about was Chloe since she is new to her school and my house help is also new. So, after getting blessing from my OB-Gyne, I drove Chloe to her school (it's a 5-minute drive only if there's no traffic but the street is quite steep). Luckily, our neighbor who is my husband's first degree cousin sent his kids to the same school and offered us to bring Chloe to school with them starting this week. One of his sons is Chloe's classmate anyway so I'm quite relieved of the situation. I am very much thankful for this arrangement as it's already a big help on our part. God bless their kind soul! But even though the situation is like this now, I can't help but miss my little girl. I guess I have to accept the fact that my baby is starting to grow up and will be on her on own one day and I can only sigh....

First Day of School
Today is Chloe's first day of school. Drove her to her new school and stayed there the whole morning. Got to orient myself, too. The doctor allowed me to drive even with big tummy as long as it won't take me that long. Driving while pregnant is okay but I should make sure that the seat and the distance of the steering wheel is properly adjusted. I should avoid getting into trouble while driving because the danger here is the trauma that my tummy might experience - God forbid! So far, everything's okay. As for Chloe, she met new friends and some of her classmates at preschool are enrolled in the same school, too, and happen to be her classmates. In their class, there are 30 of them. I hope the teacher can still manage all of them and hope Chloe can still pay attention to their class, hehe.

Chloe's First Piano Recital
Last May 30, 2010, my daughter Chloe had her first piano recital. All of us were excited to her play and Chloe, of course, loves to be on the stage, hehe. I'm glad she's not timid like me when I was her age. Sharing to you the video of Chloe while she played the Swans on the Lake and The Man in the Moon. To Chloe Alexandra, keep it up! We're proud of you and we will always support you! Love yah!

Malling Is Tiresome...
We went to the mall today and bought Chloe school shoes. It was quite difficult to find her size because her size is big for her age. Finally, we settled for Gibi shoes. I hope her feet won't grow that fast so that her shoes will last until next year. We bought few things for the baby, too. I would have love to stay a little bit longer there and bought more things but my bulging tummy was too heavy to carry that I ended up sitting at the bench whenever possible. Malling/shopping is very tiresome for me these days...

June Preparation
It's already June and I'm now checking the things Chloe needs for her school. I'm also preparing things that I need for my hospitalization because I'll be on my 8th month this month and we don't know what will happen. We already bought some necessary things for the baby. I'll be seeing my doctor every two weeks, too. So far, the baby is good and my condition gets better. I pray that everything will run smoothly until my scheduled delivery. Wish me luck!
