My Daughter's First Promenade

This is my beautiful daughter Chloe attending her Prom for the first time. If you are a follower of my (this) blog, I guess you have seen my old posts about her. She was this bubbly little girl that I was fond of posting in my blog. But how time flies. She's not a little girl anymore but transformed into a young lady. I could not even believe what my eyes were seeing on that day. In one blink she's not the baby I used to hold and cuddle anymore. Now, she has her own world, so distant from mine. Sometimes, it's even hard to talk to her...teens (sigh).

But going back to my topic, Chloe had her prom exactly a month ago. Their theme was Vintage Hollywood that's why she donned her hair that way. Kudos to her make-up and hair stylist for achieving her look. We all loved it!

She also had a small part in their program but still proud of her, coz out of the hundred students, she was handpicked to represent the Symbol of Arts.

Congrats Zoe!

This is my little girl, Zoe, who was, surprisingly declared as Champion for their Spelling Bee contest. She is currently in grade 1. Why I said surprisingly? Because she never told us that she won. But there was more to that story...

Zoe has speech delay. However, she's able to cope up with her lessons, she is still at par with her grade level. Her only difficulty is conversing with other people. She talks to me, of course, but her sentence construction is not like the common 7-year-olds. She's currently enrolled in a Therapy center that helps her with her language skills.

So, to be chosen as one of the representatives in their section (there were 2 of them in their section, 10 all in all for grade 1 level) for Spelling Bee was more than enough for us. But winning 1st place was something else!

But I was a bit sad that I never knew she won coz she didn't tell me. I didn't watch coz I thought we were not allowed, but actually we were. Only that, at the back of my mind, I might distract my child's concentration if ever I watch so I just waited for someone to tell me how she did during quiz bee...but no one approached or told me. So, I assumed she didn't win.

But then, I also thought that maybe (just maybe) she got a place coz in fairness to Zoe, she's good in Spelling. She has this sharp mind that she could easily recall the words, and spelling is one of her strengths in English subject. She never even got a mistake in spelling quiz in their class.

So, it was only the following day that I learned that my daughter won and the teacher congratulated me because Zoe was the champion! But looking at Zoe's expression, I don't even know if it was a big deal for her because she just smiled and continue doing her thing, lol.

To our dear Zoe, Congratulations! I always thanked God for you. Thank you for giving sunshine to our lives. You brighten us up always. We love you so much and looking forward for more 'adventures' with you.

Color of The Year in 2018

Happy New Year everyone! They said that 2018's color is Ultraviolet Pantone. I thought of looking for a striking violet-colored shirt only to find out that the color is closed to color blue, lolz. I guess my husband got the right color of the shirt, next was my eldest daughter, mine was purple, my baby girl wore lilac-colored shirt. Well, at least we still looked coordinated :-)

Attending an OAK Birthday Party

Attended a birthday party last December 10 with my mom and youngest daughter at Malberry Suites Hotel. I was at first hesitant to go coz I was kinda shy (Oh, come on!), hehe. My cousin, daughter of Uncle Teks, was the one who invited me. I haven't seen of this side of relatives for years and haven't even met others yet. Uncle Tek's late wife was my mom's older cousin. They lived together in one abode in Butuan City many years ago (I wasn't born then). The children (my second degree cousins) were way older than me. I often see them when I was a kid, but others I didn't meet. The one who invited me was my cousin whom I met when I already had children but we instantly connected. But I knew a great deal about her coz she was my older brother's batch and he and my mom often talks about her...or them.

Anyways, the party was sort of a reunion. It was well-organized by the kids (mainly by my cousins). Visitors (mostly my relatives) were able to reconnect to each other. Food was good, too, to the delight of my little girl :-)

Inasmuch as we'd like to stay a bit longer, my little girl wanted to go home for her much-needed naptime. But before we left, of course, we didn't miss to have our pictures taken at the photo-booth. Happy 80th Birthday Teks! God bless you with more years to celebrate with your kids, grandkids and relatives!

Chow and Me

Are you a dog-lover? I love dogs but I can't, at this moment, raise a dog while my kids are young. They also have allergic rhinitis (and so do I, just got this recently). So, here I am borrowing a beautiful 7-week old Chow-chow puppy from my youngest daughter's classmate. Such a cutie!!

Perhaps when my kids are grown-ups, I'd definitely get one dog for me <3 p="">
