The Mommy Nurse

Ok, this is the moment! I'll finally be starting tomorrow! And this is the main reason why I'll be busy nowadays, hehehe…

I know some of you don’t it know yet but I’m a registered nurse. It’s actually my second course, my first being BS-Psychology which I finished some years ago. After graduating from college, with a degree in Psychology, I worked for sometime in an industrial firm under the Personnel Department. In just a few years, this company I worked for closed, but then I got married and soon had a child.

Chloe was 4 months old when I went back to school to study nursing, after some convincing from my mom and my aunt (who is a nurse in the US). Well, I got to finish the course, took the local nursing board and passed - whew! But right after that, I didn't go into practice... I focused most of my time taking care of Chloe and doing my wifely duties at home. Actually, I had so many plans but everything had to take a backseat. I guess I was too attached to my daughter that I couldn't let her out of my sight, hehehe…

But right now, I think I need to get back to my profession or else I'll totally forget... In fact, I'm think I forgot some of the procedures already..! As of the moment, I’m experiencing mixed-emotions…Like, I’m a bit apprehensive, excited, and scared... but, who wouldn’t be? My last nursing duty was when I was still a student almost 3 years ago. I’m just crossing my fingers that some of my colleagues there would be kind enough to help me.

So tomorrow I'll be starting my first day of duty at the Operating Room. This is a volunteer work by the way…it means I’m doing this for Free (yeah, call it labor of love). This is how the system works here (in this country). That’s why I can’t blame my other fellow nurses if they want to leave and choose to work abroad. But we need nurses here, too. I’ll be doing this for a few months so I hope you wish me luck and pray for me! Chloe will be under the care of my mom whenever I'm on duty (she’s very close to her grandma and I thank my mom for that). Oh, gosh! I miss my little girl already, huhuhu… Okay, gotta be strong and start to focus. And oh, I have to end here, 'coz I need to sleep early now. Gotta save lives tomorrow. Ta-ta!
