Chicken Pox

I am supposed to baby sit my 8-month-old nephew today and the next days, however, my daughter has chicken pox (also known as varicella), so I declined. Too dangerous for the little kiddo who didn't get his varicella vaccine yet. I guess Chloe got it from her classmate but I'm not mad or anything. It may be awkward to say but I am, at least, glad that Chloe has it today while she's still young. Unlike me, I had chicken pox when I was 6 month pregnant with Chloe. It was risky and I was scared of my condition but good thing I had it during my second trimester and the doctor assured me of the baby's safety.

Chloe was already immunized, she had her chicken pox vaccine when she was about 1 year old so, I guess that's why she looks alright - except for the vesicular skin rash or red spots in her body. I just put Caladryl lotion so that she won't feel that itchy. But that means also that Chloe will be absent from school for a long period of time.

oh chickenpox. I've never had that one before, but I've heard it's really irritating because you can't scratch the itchy part or it'll leave a permanent scar :P

I agree...much better when they get them very young.
All of my kids had their turn when they were young also. My youngest brother however had them when he was 16 and boy was he sick. It is also very dangerous for boys to get them at that age as it could hurt their sperm count.
I hope that your little one gets better soon :)
