Home Must Haves

When we transferred to our place a year ago, we made sure that all necessary things were installed and in place. However, there were a few things that we would have liked to add. For one, we wanted to put a foyer chandelier in our hallway to give us and possible guests that unique illumination prior to entering our house. More than that, it would also serve as a decorative item during daytime. In the end, however, my husband decided on just putting up an exterior lighting since it was much more practical and could be also be installed in our porch and garage. Nevertheless, he managed to purchase one which had a great design, too.

Another set of items which we had wanted, and I say they really are a must, is putting up pot racks in our kitchen. We are currently utilizing our old pot holder and I'm not sure if it will last for the next 2 months. Some of our pots are now stored inside overhead cabinets, while others I had to put back into their boxes. I have been scouting for a nice set of pot racks recently and, fortunately, I was able to find several on the internet which were very nicely designed. I really hope these would be available in our area soon because I would definitely buy them!

Mommy Moments: New Family Photo

mommy moments

Whoa! I thought it's still Thursday that I almost forgot to post my MM entry. For this week, the theme is about our latest family picture.

The picture you see below was taken last January 12, 2010 - my birthday, 9 years wedding anniversary with hubby and baby Zoe turned 6 months old. We had a small celebration at home and a few photo op. If you're wondering who's the other 'blond' girl, that's my eldest daughter, Chloe, donning her Hannah Montana wig =)

...and here's me with my 2 favorite girls (",)

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend Everyone!!

I Am Thankful =)

I have many reasons to be thankful because aside from my family, I have friends who are wonderful and generous enough to remember me. Before this month ends, I would like to take this opportunity to the people here and abroad who never fail to remember me. And for those who remembered my birthday, thank you! Those who gave me gifts are greatly appreciated but it's your thought that the really counts.

I am thanking my sister-in-law and my brother who gave me a beautiful birthday gift. It was given a few days after my day. And since they knew me very well, they gave me a 2011 planner. I've always had a planner every year and thanks to them, I now own one =). They also gave me a necklace with a beautiful gift-box shaped pendant. I feel so loved, hehe. Thank you Bogie and Tonypet for this awesome gift!

I also received a keychain from Eleanor. She arrived from Singapore end of December and when we had a mini reunion with the Glee Clubbers, she gave each one of us key chains. Thank you very much for this! Thanks also for sharing to me some blogging tips ;-)

Another person I would like to express my thanks goes to Amy. She came home all the way from Florida to visit her family and she found ways and means to see me, too. She gave me a Victoria Secret perfume, Lever and Dial soaps, blanket for her goddaughter Zoe, goodies for Chloe and she gave to us the beads she got from Mardi gras. Thank you for that Amy but it was really good to see you. I'm happy of where you are right now. I'm happy to see you happy :)

And just yesterday, I received a message from a dear friend, Jess, a former co-worker of mine who is now based in Saudi Arabia. He informed me that he left me 'pasalubong' (gift/souvenir) from our common friend. Hubby got it for me on his way home from the office. Jess knew that I love Toblerone chocolate so he set aside 2 bars for me and 2 Drakkar Noir for my hubby. Well, these people made me happy. Because it's nice to be remembered even though we hardly see each other...

Practical and Stylish

When we transferred to our place a year ago, we did a lot of repairs. Others were retained but the rest were replaced with new ones because it was already dilapidated. We did a small renovation in our kitchen area especially the sink. My hubby recommended using Moen kitchen faucets that he found online as he believed in the quality. He wanted to use something that's durable and can be used for a long time. Apart from our kitchen, hubby had our shower faucet changed, too.

Link Me!

Technology these days is fast-paced and easy to access. In these modern times, everything can be reached in a short span of time and lets you connect easily with your long lost friends. Internet is the key and it's best if you have Linksys router because it helps simplify your life by making your home wireless. You can also have it customized by limiting internet access or blocking off unsecured sites and your password protected.

I Am Sked for a Cryosurgery...

I am scheduled for a cryosurgery tomorrow afternoon. I had my annual pap smear last December 2010 and the result was negative. It was satisfactory, however, a slight infection was detected. After my consultation with my OB-Gyne, I agreed to her recommendation for a cryosurgery. I will be a walk-in patient for this procedure that will take less than 20 or 15 minutes only. In layman's term, she found something that looks like a wart inside my cervix and it needs to be removed by burning it. She said it's not painful so I guess I will just be fine after this.

As defined by womenshealth.about.com, "Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy is a gynecological treatment that freezes a section of the cervix. Cryosurgery of the cervix is most often done to destroy abnormal cervical cells that show changes that may lead to cancer."

With what the doctor had found out and with this definition, I don't have any second thought of delaying this therapy. We can never be too sure of our health these days and I guess when we're at this age and after giving birth 2x, I have to be more conscious with my body particularly with my health. Wish me luck and pray for me! Thanks >*<

Mommy Moments: New Achievements

mommy moments
It's been a long while I haven't join Mommy Moments every Friday. I used to post my entry in my other blog but now I decided to post it here at Cookie's Corner. This week's theme is about New Achievement, so, if you wish to join, visit The Mommy Journey Blog to learn the mechanics.
This is Chloe's report card. I got this from her class adviser last week. I'm glad that Chloe has maintained her grades up to the third quarter. And right are now, they are on their fourth quarter and their lesson is quite complex already. But I don't really put pressure on my her. I only let her study if there's a long test or quarterly exam and if there's none, I will let her play, watch DVD shows or use the computer... As long as she complied all the requirements and pass her subjects, I'll be grateful for it.

But Chloe gave me more than I expected. And I'm so proud of what she has achieved. She don't even ask for a reward. She will be happy to see our happy faces. But of course I want to reward her for the effort. It may not be expensive but only a simple treat. Mind you, she'll be very happy if I buy her french fries at the Potato Corner, hehe. If not, I buy her books that she likes at Booksale because she is really fond of reading.

Zoe's Progress

When baby Zoe turned 6 months old, she made a lot of progress in her milestone. She's now starting to crawl by trying to slide her tummy and use her knees to push herself forward. But most of the time, she pushed herself backward :D :D And I don't let Zoe sleeps beside me at bed at night anymore. She's safe on her crib, safe from mosquito bites and safe from fall especially now that she rolls so fast.

She still wakes up at night to ask for milk but at times, she sleeps thru the night and wakes up at 5 am. This is where Chloe and Zoe differ for I remember Chloe slept thru the night when she turned 4 months old and woke up only to ask milk the following morning. But every child is unique so I'll just enjoy every moment of it.

Zoe is starting to eat her solid food, too. Starting last Monday, she ate Cerelac Rice and Soya flavor 2x a day and so far she loved it! I'll be feeding her this flavor for the whole week and next week, I'll let her try another flavor.

But what I am happy about her in new development is that I don't carry her most often these days. Before, I used to carry her until she's asleep but right now, she sleeps by herself in her crib. But there were times when she wanted me to carry her for awhile until she's contented, then I put her back on her crib and then she sleeps. I am so glad for this progress!

Unique Birthday Gift

When my mom turned 60 years old a few years ago, I remember we celebrated with her at her home and I gave her a simple birthday cake. I couldn't think of anything else to give but right now, there are plenty of things to choose from and is even available online. There are so many beautiful sixtieth birthday gifts for her to give... but I guess I still can give some of these items on her coming birthday, after all, she's still in her 60's.

Goodbye, Chat Time Blog...

I made this blog last year but I now decided to let this go as I am busy with my other blogs. Maintaining a lot of blogs can be tiresome =) but since I'm trying to make a living out of blogging, then, I've be serious about it. But I've to delete this one coz I cannot take care of it anymore even though I came to love this blog. However, some of these contents can still be viewed in my other blog as I've exported it there, and the entries I made were appropriate in my Marriage and Parenting blog.

I thanked all the viewers and the followers of this blog and I hope you'll follow me in my other blogs, too. Be posting more about it in my next entry.

Yummy Sunday: Sans Rival Cake

For my Yummy Sunday entry this week, I'll be featuring here my birthday/anniversary cake that was given to me by my mom last January 12, 2011. This is a Sans Rival cake from Goldilocks and it tasted really good. I've tried this one before from another confectionery shop but it was so super sweet I only ate 1/8th of it. I thanked my mom for always bringing me a cake on my birthdays =)

Triple Celebration

Yesterday, January 12, was my birthday, our 9th wedding anniversary and Zoe turned 6 months old. We had a small celebration at home, attended by family members only. Below is our family pic, with Chloe who was wearing her Hannah Montana wig =)

And here's a picture of me and Baby Zoe (",)

Care For Skin

I have 3 nephews from my cousin who are conscious with the way they look. They are on their puberty stage so having a zit or acne is a big deal to them. It's funny that these boys are so skin conscious but I admire them for it. My cousin, the boys' mom, told me that she bought her kids acne products as recommended by the dermatologist. The boys were really religious in using it and I guess it was effective for I see no signs of acne when I saw them yesterday.

Stylish Glass

My best friend and her husband's business are all about glass tiles. They live in another town but they come to our place often to deliver the orders to their customers and personally install it. I've seen their work and it was really great! They also offer different designs and colors for the glass. It was so unique that I never doubted their business would prosper.

New Faucet

There are several things that need to be altered in our house. We need to repair a lot of things and one of them is our bathroom faucet. It was broken and it was hard for us to turn it open everytime we use it. We are currently looking for a sturdy replacement and I think Hansgrohe faucet will make things better for us. I went to one site and found a lot of bathroom vanities. And they are on sale which means, I can save a lot should I purchase any equipment from them. Why don't you check it, too?!

Computer Device

Sometimes, in order to keep our things orderly or systematic, we need something to support or secure it. Just like with our computer, things will look messy if we don't put it in a proper place. It's even better if we have rackmount computer because it helps in keeping things in order and protects the unit. We should not worry, too, as this device is designed to fit computer equipment.

Hello 2011

Happy New Year Everybody!!! Do you have a great time in welcoming 2011? We were once again at my mom's place coz it's always been our tradition to spend it with her together with my siblings. However, my 2nd elder brother and his family was not with us because he was assigned in Manila already. But we still have a visitor, my aunt who just arrived from the US together with her grandchildren (my 3 nephews). We had our usual Media Noche (New Year's Eve get together) then we waited for 12 midnight to see the fireworks display outside the house. My eldest daughter already enjoyed celebrating Christmas and New Year and she has overcome her fears of fireworks this time. While my baby Zoe is still a baby to comprehend the event, I carried and held her in my arms when the fireworks started. She went to sleep comfortably as I cradled her my chest and put her down when the noise started to died down. She woke up at around 8 am and I was very glad about it! I sure would love to hear your story about your New Year celebration. Hope we all have a good year this 2011.
