Marie Antoinette

I remember watching this movie some months ago. I was curious about it because it depicted the life of Marie Antoinette, played by the pretty actress, Kirsten Dunst. Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna affectionately known as Antoine, was the naïve, 14-year-old and youngest daughter of Austria's empress. She was selected by her mother to marry her second cousin, the Dauphin of France, Louis XVI, and seal an alliance between the two rival countries.

The intro was fairly interesting. However, as the story unfolded, I got soo bored. I kept on “fast forwarding” the DVD to skip the lousy parts. But it got lousier and lousier. In some parts, most of the actors had a very long idle moment and there was even no music to serve as their background. It was like was watching fish in an aquarium. Beautiful clothes or gowns were shown in the movie, which I know some fashion lovers would appreciate, but for gosh's sake that was so 15th century ago. In the end, I hated myself for wasting two hours of my time. If you ask me, I'd give this film a rating of D- (for the effort) and I wouldn't recommend watching this movie. Or maybe this movie could work for you, but not for me.

Friendship Poem

Thank you Darling for this poem

We need friends for many reasons,

all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us
one we have passed
sharing memories
that will always last.

Spread the poem of friendship.

Teardrops On My Guitar

Lately, I was so hooked listening to Taylor Swift's song entitled, 'Teardrops On My Guitar'. I'm not really into country music, and the song isn't new, but it just registered into my mind and now I can't get it outta my head! I memorized the lyrics of the song, even learned the chords and, heck, even tried playing it on my guitar, too! As if these weren't enough, I made a research on this beautiful singer and found out she's only 18! What a talented young lady. She even composed this song herself, which was inspired by true events in her past when she had a secret crush on a boy named Drew. He only saw Swift as a friend and a go-to person for advice about his relationship with his girlfriend. Well, that guy was certainly a loser. Look how rich and famous Taylor Swift is right now!

Polyvore

(Kukai's creation @ Polyvore: Ready For The Ball)

When I’m online, I usually check my emails at Yahoo or Gmail, then see if I have messages from my Friendster and Facebook accounts. I do my researches online, too, to update me of what's new in the Nursing world. And since I’ve been a blogger for some months already, my day is not complete without checking my blog and my online friends’ blogs, too. Recently, Polyvore was introduced to me by my friend – and I got hooked on it right away. It was really fun doing virtual shopping. I never thought that it would feel like I was really shopping some fancy designer clothes, hehe. And I’ve realized that doing this releases my stress, too. As of now, I’ve created a set not only for myself but for my husband and daughter, too.

Bookmarks

What you can see in this picture are bookmarks specially made by my very good friend, Soul Anchor. I loved the way she turned these beads into beautiful bookmarks, I even ordered some to give to my special friends. But before letting go of these items, I took a picture of them just to remind me that they were once held by my hands. :)

Soul Anchor exudes the qualities of a good educator as she is very talented, creative and a self-proclaimed booklover. If you’re curious about her products, and also want to unveil the mystery of Soul Anchor, you can visit her site or view this blog :

I'm REAL

You Are 70% Real

You know who you are, and you're pretty darn comfortable with yourself.

Like everyone, you struggle with the parts of yourself that aren't so great...

But you're good at accepting who you are and not dwelling on your faults.

As a result, you're confident, optimistic, and very real.

I am well aware of my imperfections but it doesn't mean that I don't have anything good to offer or show. I think each one of us had our share of insecurities or inferiorities but I believe we also have a lot of positive things to contribute. Other people may judge us. They didn't even bother to know us first. But well, we just can't please everybody. What's important is we knew ourselves better than anyone else. We knew the real us.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

I’ve just watched the movie last night, to think this was shown 3 or 4 years ago. But it was worth the wait. If I’d watched this movie 3 or 4 years ago, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it since I’d be very biased against Angelina Jolie. You see at that time, I felt Angie was the cause of separation between Brad & Jen’s marital bliss. I liked Angelina as an actress, but being the cause of somebody else’s breakup made me detest her (even though she kept on denying the allegations). However, as the time passed, things change and we also have a change of heart. I can’t abhor her forever; especially since most of Angelina’s movies were blockbusters. I eventually forgot my disgust about the Jolie-Pitts relationship. So finally, I decided to watch their ‘controversial’ movie. And mind you, I really appreciated the show and found out how good-looking they were together. I shouldn’t be surprised if one was attracted to another (again, even though they kept on denying it). I really enjoyed watching the movie. The story was unique and despite the heavy action, I had not a few laughs, too. I totally forgive Angelina and I’m putting her back in my pedestal again :)

Smallville

I’m so crazy over Smallville, I never missed one episode from season 1 up to season 7. Season 8 is still to be aired, and it’s kinda been killing me, hehe. I guess I still have one more month to wait. This is the only ‘Superman’ series that I really admire. I fell in love with the main characters, Clark Kent, played by Tom Welling, and his love interest, Lana, played by Kristin Kreuk. Of course, I want his best friend Chloe to be there for my Superman, too. I also like how Lex Luthor, portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum, delivers his intelligent lines. I’ve been an avid follower of the TV series eversince I was still pregnant with Chloe. How I 'd love to see Lana’s beautiful face on the screen. But I don’t get me wrong, I didn’t name my daughter Chloe just because the best friend of Clark Kent happens to be named Chloe. I already had that name in mind even before I got hitched-- I got it from a popular line of perfume, see? Anyways, Smallville became more exciting to watch when some of the Justice Leaguers were introduced in Season 6 (and didn't you love Green Arrow, too? ). I was just a bit sad when I learned that Lana’s character will not be regularly seen on season 8. But whatever story will turn out , I will always be a fan of Smallville :)
